Jeanette Muñoz Abela

DIRECTOR, ARCHITECT, STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Having studied Architecture and Civil Engineering at the University of Malta, Jeanette went on to read for a Masters and PhD in Structural Engineering at Imperial College London. At the same institution, Jeanette also holds a Post-Doc position and is gaining teaching experience working with both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Over the years, Jeanette has worked on numerous projects in various roles. These include doing the structural analysis of the London 2012 Olympic Stadium roof (tender in legacy period) and being involved in the detail design and buckling stability of the steel box girder for the Izmit Bay Bridge in Turkey with Flint & Neill Limited (then sister company to COWI), London.

Closer to home in Malta, Jeanette was the project leader for the new Portomaso Tower, and was involved in the structural alterations of various hotels including being part of the team of designers on behalf of DeMicoli & Associates for 66 St Paul’s, a boutique hotel in Valletta. Moreover, Jeanette is also active in research and lecturing at the University of Malta within the Faculty for the Built Environment
